Stafford Middle School is located at 15 Broad Street Plattsburgh, NY. The school staff applies excellent teaching methods and standards for student learning, enrollments are for grades 6 through 8 for residents who live in Clinton County. There are 540 students at Stafford are divided into interdisciplinary teams at both the sixth and seventh grades. The eighth grade is not teamed. This helps to transition our 8th grade students into the high school.
Through the teams, with cooperative learning groups, the sixth grade students transition nicely into middle school environment. Through the encouragement of community involvement plus district standards that promote "pilot interdisciplinary projects," the Stafford Middle School is well on its way to supporting the new state and national standards.
The educational programs at Stafford Middle School provide a wide range of challenges in various subjects to meet the needs and talents of the student population including the basic educational needs of Math, English Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. The staff and teachers strive to create a learning environment that will promote self worth, respect for others, and the appreciation of learning.
