Southern Cayuga Middle School is located at 2384 Route 34B Aurora, NY. Students may attend this school for education for grades 5th-8th in Cayuga County. Southern Cayuga Middle School practices district beliefs of educating the whole student, first by stimulating the student academically and then by offering a number of common experiences designed to develop the social, emotional, physical and ethical development of the individual. The middle school is Technology driven and strives to provide the best and most current technology, standards and equipment, for the educational development of our students and tools for our teachers and staff.
Parental support and encouragement of academic success is very important so every effort is made to establish and maintain communication between home and school. This school makes use of a special program that is called “Odyssey of the Mind”.
Odyssey of the Mind guides students how to think about a wide range of problems and learn how to solve them while having fun. It challenges their minds to think out side the box and come up with creative solutions and express their individual ideas without fear of criticism. Students at Pioneer Middle School really enjoy the library system that offers virtual presentations, communication, and even video streaming.
