South Seneca Elementary School is located at 8326 Main Street Interlaken, NY and it serves grades PK-5 in Seneca County. Students receive instruction in art, music, physical education, library and computer skills in addition to the regular classroom curricula. All instruction is guided according to the standards set by New York State. Character education is continuous throughout the year. Respect, responsibility, citizenship, honesty and compassion are woven in daily lessons. Children are taught to be responsible for their own actions.
The school mission is to make the transition from childhood to adolescence and from the elementary grades to the high school a positive period of intellectual and personal development. The school provides a course of study that is comprehensive, challenging, purposeful, integrated, and standards-based in which New York State Assessments are administered in ELA and Math for all of the students as well as State Assessments in Science.
