South Ocean Middle School Teachers recognize that children develop at different rates socially, emotionally, and academically. As students advance the curriculum is expanded to include reading, language arts composition, spelling, English essentials, science, and health, social studies which includes geography, history, citizenship, music, art and physical education. Through the integration of technology, students at South Ocean will master computer skills offered in various ways. Teachers are trained in the mechanics of using the hardware and software through the exploration of tools that enhance and expand the curriculum by including learner-centered, interdisciplinary, constructionist activities. They encourage each and every student to accept responsibility for their own academic success in all aspects of their learning.
