South Junior High School is located at 33-63 Monument Street Newburgh, NY and it serves grades 7-9 in Orange County. Students who attend enjoy building lifelong bonds with classmates, teachers, staff, and their own community. Students work individually at their own pace to improve writing and reading. Through the use of multi- sensory phonic based software, students improve their skills. Students use six computerized hands- on learning stations that are enjoyable and educationally effective.
South Junior High School knows all children can be successful learners. The teachers apply effective instructional strategies to meet each student’s individual needs. Throughout the learning experience at South Junior High School, teachers, staff, and parents work together to ensure the best in educational opportunities are available along with providing the best teaching skills for each student at their own level of understanding.
The discipline of art, music and literature are incorporated into the curriculum. Morse students are provided with a variety of performances, field trips and multicultural events held during the year. The music program at South Junior High School performs a number of grade level musical concerts throughout the school year. This School has a very active Parent Teacher Association. The school encourages all to join and participate. Funds raised are used to provide our students with a plenty of field trips, school events, and educational/cultural programs.
