Remsenburg-Speonk Elementary School children are starting down the path of education by learning fundamentals of education in reading, writing, math, and language arts. Several of their lessons and activities are taught in small groups. This process facilitates interaction with the children and continuous assessment of their progress. There are no fixed groupings. The students are grouped and regrouped depending on their interests and special needs. The staff makes every effort to keep parents well informed of their child's progress and individual strengths/weaknesses. Every week students participate in special subject areas. Students go to computers three times a week; physical education, art, Spanish and library twice a week; and music once a week. They visit the library on a weekly basis.
