Red Jacket Middle School is located at 1506 Route 21 Shortsville, NY and provides education to grades 6-8 in Ontario County. At Red Jacket Middle School students have the opportunity to use technology in many ways in their classrooms and the computer lab. They use laptops as part of a wireless mobile computer lab, digital cameras, scanners, printers, interactive whiteboards, and electronic microscopes.
The programs is based on a developmental approach to learning. The center-based promotes the physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth of each child. We work to promote self-esteem and self-confidence, acceptance, belonging, trust, friendship, offering our students a time to grow and develop.
All students participate in special area classes. These special areas schedule runs on a six-day cycle. Students attend art and library once during the cycle, and music and gym twice. Students have the opportunity to join chorus, and band or orchestra. Instrumental lessons occur once in the six-day cycle. The band and orchestra also meet once during the cycle.
