Putnam Valley High School is located at 146 Peekskll Hollow Road Putnam Valley, NY. Putnam County is situated in the southeastern part of New York State, between the Hudson River on its west and the New York-Connecticut border on its east. Putnam is southeast of Newburgh, and it is north of White Plains. The county has six public school districts: Brewster, Carmel, Garrison, Haldane, Mahopac, and Putnam Valley. Mahopac is the largest school district in Putnam County, educating more than 5,000 students in four elementary schools, a middle school, and a high school. This New York Public School serves grades 9-12 in Putnam County of New York State.

We will encourage individual excellence by students of all ages so that they may gain a lifelong enthusiasm for learning and work. A wide range of co-curricular activities, including interscholastic sports, is offered to enhance the students' educational experiences. Putnam Valley High School has chapters of the National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta (Mathematics Honor Society), and the National Spanish Honor Society.
Putnam Valley High School is a comprehensive all Regents High School. Curricular offerings include Honors programs in Math, Science, English, Social Studies and Spanish. Students are accepted in Honors classes based on class performance, grade point average, and teacher recommendation. Advanced Placement English, Advanced Placement US History, and Syracuse University Project Advance (SUPA) Calculus are offered to selected eleventh grade students. Seniors may be offered the opportunity to take the following Syracuse Project Advance courses: English, Economics, Public Policy, Chemistry, and two levels of Calculus. Advanced Placement Biology is also offered.
