P.S. 7 Kingsbridge School computers have a place in the mathematics curriculum but must be seen as another tool to be used by the teacher and the child. They do not take the place of good teaching and extensive use of manipulatives. Computers provide an alternative to pen-and-paper tasks, are stimulating for less able children, and provide interesting extension work for all levels of ability. There is a wide variety of computer applications available. Students are involved in inquiry within a structured math, science and technology program geared to fostering critical thinking and problem solving. Students also receive weekly instruction in art, music, health and physical education. Bi-weekly lessons are also planned for students in the library to address research, study and library science skills.
