P.S. 170 teachers understand the key to success in education is through cooperation with others including parents, teachers and community citizens. High expectations for academic achievement are balanced by the same standards of developing positive self-esteem and self-confidence. P.S. 170 student’s behavior, work habits and attitudes are reinforced with parental cooperation and involvement will be fostered through open communication while achieving and complying with district initiatives. They aim to develop inquiring, caring, confident, principled and academically successful students who will become contributors in the creation of a better school, home, neighborhood and global community.
