Pioneer Middle School is located at 12132 Old Olean Road Yorkshire, NY. Education is provided for grades 5th through 8th for the community of Yorkshire in Cattaraugus County. The Pioneer Middle faculty members are devoted to creating a challenging, rewarding and safe learning environment for all students. Technology innovations have be incorporated into this school with computers available in every class.
Parental support and encouragement of academic success is very important so every effort is made to establish and maintain communication between home and school. One unique program this school has incorporated in its programs is called “Odyssey of the Mind”.
Odyssey of the Mind guides students how to think about a wide range of problems and learn how to solve them while having fun. It challenges their minds to think out side the box and come up with creative solutions and express their individual ideas without fear of criticism. Students at Pioneer Middle School really enjoy the library system that offers virtual presentations, communication, and even video streaming. While the community is very small local activities and recreation are abundant in the area. Buffalo and Erie are close by which adds even more enriched activities & culture.
