Perkins Elementary School is located at 439 West Maple Avenue Newark, NY serving grades Pk-2 in Wayne County. The school applies common philosophies set forth by the school community which is to provide students a sound environment for educational excellence that will develop the skills, attitudes, knowledge and values to become contributing members of society. New York educators encourage individual excellence by students of all ages so that they may gain a lifelong enthusiasm for learning and work.

This School rallies around the educational philosophy to encourage the development of critical thinking, self esteem, and responsible people of tomorrow. In addition, they are committed to having high expectations for students to excel in learning.
The Staff are knowledgeable, energetic, and committed to the students and their families. You will find this school community very active working with all children to provide a foundation for students to reach their maximum potential through a comprehensive, exact standard to opportunities to empower children to be independent thinkers, problem solvers, and responsible citizens.

Historically, Wayne County was originally included in lands of Ontario and Seneca Counties; it became a separate county on April 11, 1823. The county’s history actually begins long before 1823. Some of Wayne County’s early arrivals were veterans of the Revolution who came to take up claims in the Military Tract. Wayne County offers a distinctive blend of urban amenities that include; Golf, Parks, Skiing, Hunting, Chimney Bluffs, Seaway Trail, Snowmobile, Erie Canal and Nature adventure. The school is very fortunate to have such dedicated staff members who care about each other and each child.
