Oneonta Middle School is located at 130 East Street Oneonta, NY and it serves grades 7-8 in Otsego County. The Oneonta Middle School believes all young adolescents should have an opportunity to succeed in every aspect of the middle school program and that the educational program should be shaped to fit the needs of students. The middle school should be a place where trusting relationships with adults and peers establish a climate for intellectual development and personal growth. Every student should learn to think critically through mastery of an appropriate body of knowledge and demonstration of critical skills.
This New York School wants all students to be safe, engaging environment that values all members of the community and encourages them to pursue their full potential as life-long learners and respectful citizens. The teachers make every effort to incorporate literacy learning in all areas of learning: social studies, science, math, health, physical education, and the arts.
By integrating technology to enhance student achievement and literacy; to support standards-based instructional goals and delivery as well as technological literacy for the staff; provide administrative functions and data access through technology; and augment communication within the district and with parents and the community. The desired outcome of technology integration throughout all aspects of the educational process is to ensure that all students are well-equipped for the work place and/or post-secondary education.
