Oneida Castle School is located at 10 Castle Street Oneida, NY. This New York public school provides out standing educational opportunities to the local community in Madison County, for grades PK through 6. Many of the activities offered at this elementary school are supported by a not-for-profit organization; they are financed by businesses, foundations and individuals.
The purpose of the program is to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise and to understand the connection between courses they study in school and future employment. Volunteers share their time, energy and creativity in facilitating these programs in the classroom.
In addition to social studies, math, science and language arts, students participate in a variety of special area classes including: reading, art, music, computers, technology, home and careers, physical education, band and chorus. A number of formal and informal programs are offered to help students who have difficulty learning, as well as for those students with disabilities.
Students have the opportunity to reflect on their own interests and talents when hearing from professionals in culinary arts, animal science, pharmacy, law, forestry, farming, medicine, military and entertainment.
