Norwood Avenue School reading and writing time begins with a mini-lesson, where the whole class learns a particular skill or concept from their teacher. Students then break up into small groups and work cooperatively on the given task and this is known as work shopping. The teacher will move from group to group, checking for progress and engaging students with literal and inferential questions. Norwood facility upgrades, technology enhancements, the addition of numerous extra curricular activities, ample support programs, and small class size are some of the most recent and ongoing efforts in the district.
