Northport Middle School teachers and staff know how hard these transitional years can be from Middle School to being prepared for high school. Because of this, the caring environment, which promotes not only an education but social and emotional well being as well, is at the top of the list. Teachers and other school officials are focused on student achievement. The staff collects and studies assessment data and uses it to adjust curriculum and/or instruction. District needs in curriculum and instruction are constantly evaluated. The Comprehensive District Education Plan is the tool used for assessing needs and developing strategies for improving student achievement. Northport Middle School provides a standards-based curriculum, which emphasizes the mastery of skills assessed by New York State. The development of respect and acceptance of diverse cultures, will offer all the students a solid opportunity for life long success.
