Located in the Albany City School District (Formerly School 20) the North Albany Academy was reopened after a revitalization effort in 2005. Children in grades pre-K through 8th grade attend this academy and this is the first of its kind in the city. The school supports academic learning through the use of enrichment activities and the basics of education. There is a media center and computer lab that students may access as well as a running track, pool and gym thanks the North Albany YMCA. Students may also access the Albany Public Library. Academic success as well as exceptional behavior are expected from students at North Albany Academy. And, this academy has been meeting its goals because it was recognized for most improved school in both 2002 and 2003 in English Language Arts and math.
