Nassau Elementary School is located on Nassau Road in Poughkeepsie, New York. Nassau Elementary School provides an excellent education for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.
Nassau Elementary School students spend time together in what is known as the Morning Meeting, which instills community spirit and aids in practicing respectful communication. During this time, students are recognized for random acts of respectful action and kindness by receiving a PRO certificate. PRO stands for People Respecting Others. This certificate is proudly displayed for an entire month and then is presented to the students during an awards assembly quarterly.
The staff at Nassau Elementary School is above average when it comes to skill, professionalism, and dedication to the academic, social, and emotional development of all students attending their school. Students at Nassau School learn the importance of developing good citizenry, recognizing individual differences, and the importance of having concern for others. The teachers strive to encourage the growth of each student to ensure confidence and pride in their accomplishments, so each student can become productive members in their community and society as a whole.
Along with the teachers, parents and the community work together through various programs to ensure students have all available educational tools and resources to excel in all areas of education, emotional, and socially.
