Lincoln School seeks to stimulate the intellectual and emotional growth of students so that they will acquire the power to continue growing after their school days are over. They have a wonderful traveling library of over 200 books to assist students in choosing and developing interesting projects. The faculty and staff provide a challenging curriculum, a warm and supportive learning environment, and many enriching experiences for all of the students. Many unique and rewarding field trips in all grade levels enhance what students learn in the classroom.
Lincoln School extends efforts in their reading program based on the following beliefs: all students will experience success, reading is a life-long skill, and reading is fun. The reading specialist works closely with the classroom teacher to best meet the individual needs of the child. The support can be provided in several ways. The reading specialist may go into the classroom or the students may go to the reading specialist’s classroom. In either setting, the support may be done individually, in small group, or a combination of the two. The length and frequency of the time spent in this program is based on the individual needs of the child.
