Mount Vernon Pre-Kindergarten Program allows a child the chance to learn and understand their world through the daily hands-on experiences they meet in the classrooms. In the Pre-K Program Young learners will enjoy time to play, to listen and talk, to share and cooperate, and to continue to develop their skills and interests. The teachers are devoted to creating enduring memories for each child and fostering a life long desire to learn. At Mount Vernon Pre-Kindergarten Children go to learn to communicate, play, and interact with others appropriately.
The teacher provides various materials and activities to motivate these children to learn the language and vocabulary of reading, mathematics, science, and computers, as well as that of music, art, and social behaviors. Pre-kindergarten may serve the purpose of helping them adjust to being apart from their parents without anxiety. They are usually exposed to their first idea of friendship while they play and interact with other children on a regular basis.
