The Mount Pleasant Cottage School provides vocational and occupational education programs along with remedial services for students with special needs. The students attending the school live and attend school on the campus.

The school programs found at Mount Pleasant Cottage School include an education for students in 2nd through 12th grades that are of normal intellectual potential however, have emotional or social issues. The high school is a state registered high school and provides diplomas for students upon graduation. The school offers a diagnostic program for 25 students that are placed in a 30 to 60 day stay while during their stay the school will provide a complete education, psychiatric, psychological, and medical workup.

The staff is not only responsible for the education of the students, but due to the residency requirements, the staff is responsible for the care and treatment as well.
