Monroe Woodbury High School is located at 155 Dunderberg Road Central Valley, NY and it serves grades 9-12 in Orange County. The Business Education Program is designed to offer students the opportunity to develop needed skills and competencies in four major areas: General Business, Information Processing, Finance, and Marketing. A wide variety of course offerings give students and opportunity to acquire marketable interpersonal and consumer survival skills needed in our changing technological business society.
Most occupational pursuits require computer use. The ability to "keyboard" is a vital skill needed by all students as an ever-increasing number of college majors require students to purchase/provide computers. Therefore, we strongly encourage students to have basic keyboarding/computer skills as soon as possible in their high school careers and most definitely before they graduate from high school. The selection of the Keyboarding Applications course will accomplish this objective.
During the last few years, our computer literacy program has evolved so that besides formal courses in computer education, courses in English, Business, Science, Art, Technology Education and many other disciplines have integrated computer skills as part of their curriculum. This is partially accomplished by the efforts of our Computer Literacy Teacher and the Computer Teacher Assistants who work with the teachers and classes in especially equipped computer laboratories.
