Mohansic School provides education to kindergarten through second grade. Everything that takes place at Mohansic is done with the goal of giving children developmentally appropriate experiences that enhance their intellectual, academic, social and emotional growth. They offer rich experiences that help to develop a child’s positive sense of self, confidence and decision making abilities. The staff recognizes and fosters individual talents, strengths, and abilities in ways that support each child and extend his/her learning. The Teachers are professionals and are knowledgeable, talented, caring and nurturing. All are dedicated to ensuring a quality early elementary education for each student.
Mohansic School serves a diverse, multilingual student population of recent immigrants to the United States. They seek to provide each student with a language-rich learning experience that moves them to a point where they can read, write and communicate effectively in English and their native language. The students will learn to use their minds well to critically analyze and respond to complex real-world issues. They will use what they learn to become successful academically and professionally and to become advocates for themselves and their communities.
