Merrick Academy-Queens Public Charter School utilizes a proprietary, standard based on the Core Knowledge Sequence to teach history, science, geography, literature and fine arts. It was developed and is continually updated and refined by the Core Knowledge Foundation, an independent organization that leverages the research of teachers, administrators and academic scholars around the country. The focus of the Academy is on the core skills of reading, language and mathematics. The Academy is organized to provide an extended day, a high degree of individualized instruction and an innovative research-based academic curriculum.
