The purpose of the program is to educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise and to understand the connection between courses they study in school and future employment. Volunteers share their time, energy and creativity in facilitating these programs in the classroom.
Students have the opportunity to reflect on their own interests and talents when hearing from professionals in culinary arts, animal science, pharmacy, law, forestry, farming, medicine, military and entertainment.
A unique program is Pen Pals where students travel to other buildings within the district, as well as to other schools, to meet the pen pals with whom they correspond all year. The experiences enhance the students' language arts and communication skills, social skills and community awareness.
