Kingsford Park Elementary School is located at 275 West Fifth Street Oswego, NY and it serves grades K-6 in Oswego County. They offer a variety of programs that incorporate an education for all types of students. Our parents, teachers, students and other staff members constantly work toward building an atmosphere of cooperation and respect to enhance our learning environment. They strive to reach each student through his or her unique learning style.
Some of the programs at Kingsford Park Elementary School that help build strong educational foundation are: Conflict Resolution, the Amigo Project, volunteer tutoring, Parents as Reading Partners, Character Education, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), Poet in Residence, Banana Splits, evening Parent/Teacher conferences, and new teacher mentoring. Their Home and School organization is very active and supports us in our effort to expand our students' opportunities for educational, social and behavioral growth. Their Safety Committee continues to maintain a safe and comfortable environment for all.
The curriculum coordinator works closely with administration, grade levels, and departments to ensure that curriculum is continually being reviewed, evaluated, and adjusted to meet the needs of students. Additionally, staff analyzes state and local test results as a means of changing curriculum and instruction. The School works with technology integration and activities that provide opportunities for problem solving, students at the high school level they gradually become accountable for their own learning.
Parents are involved in many ways contributing to the success of the school to help guide the school board to ensure all students receive the best education possible while maintaining a social environment for the students to learn and grow into mature upstanding citizens.
