Jonas E. Salk Middle School staff connects programs through teacher teams, interdisciplinary programs and a strong exploratory program. Students are eager to learn. They are also active, easily distractible social beings who need instructional experiences that engage them in varied learning activities, opportunities to interact with peers and time to learn. The teachers utilize a variety of teaching strategies, project work, cooperative groups, active learning and, where possible, block/flexible schedules.

Jonas E. Salk applies literacy learning in all areas of learning: social studies, science, math, health, physical education, and the arts. Parents with children attending this public School enjoy the, caring, dedicated teachers, and the desire of the school for parent involvement. The school applies common philosophies set forth by the school community which is to provide students a sound environment for educational excellence that will develop the skills, attitudes, knowledge and values to become contributing members of society.
