Jonas Bronck Academy student learn intellectual and social development combined with a strong skills program around five common themes that are embedded across academic subjects referred to as the Areas of Interaction: approaches to learning; community service; health and social education; environment. Students are encouraged to develop intercultural awareness that includes a study of their own traditions and history. Jonas Bronck students are actively involved in extensive, hands on projects requiring the use of state of the art technology; enabling them to become productive citizens of an ever changing global society. Research-based best practices are used in reading, the writing process, mathematics, science and social studies. Reading, writing and mathematics are taught in extended blocks of time to practice and apply skills.
