John F. Kennedy School is located at 801-809 Park Street Ogdensburg, NY serving grades 3-6 in St.Lawrence County. The faculty, staff, parents, and students at Kennedy Elementary strive for academic and social excellence. Together we have developed a strong community bond, which emanates throughout the school setting and into the Ogdensburg Community. As I began my first year as principal, I knew that I had the support of this motivated Kennedy family as we stressed the importance of physical, emotional, and social development. The programming our team has developed demonstrates our commitment to molding the whole child into an Effective Communicator, Productive Worker, and Complex Thinker.
This New York School encourages high academic excellence through integrated thematic educational experiences, enhanced by community collaboration to accommodate individual learning needs in heterogeneously grouped classrooms. They strive to develop self-actualized individuals who demonstrate high academic excellence, effective communication skills, critical thinking abilities, civic values and global awareness as they provide and support opportunities for life-long learning.
Officials work to ensure the curriculum is continually being reviewed, evaluated, and adjusted to meet the needs of students. Additionally, staff analyzes state and local test results as a means of changing curriculum and instruction. Technology integration and activities that provide opportunities for problem solving, students at every grade level gradually become accountable for their own learning.
