John F. Kennedy Magnet School desires parents and the community to be involved in the education of their children. Through current research the findings are conclusive. Student learning and achievement in school occurs when the home and school collaborate in creating an educational environment that encourages learning; communicates high, yet reasonable expectations for achievement; works together; and has an invested interest in the education of their community’s children.
The John F. Kennedy Magnet School staff acknowledges that all students are capable of learning, regardless of their abilities, race, color, national origin or creed, and works to make sure this responsibility is met. Key studies include language, math, art, technology programs, and an innovative music program. John F. Kennedy Magnet School provides average class sizes, positive community support, individual attention, and encouragement where all students and staff members strive for excellence. Policies of the School are set forth and advise students, parents, employees and the general public that it offers employment and educational opportunities, including vocational education opportunities without regard to sex, race, color, national origin or handicap.
