James H. Boyd Elementary School staff and teachers strive to create a learning environment that will promote self-esteem, respect for others, and an appreciation of learning to each student. Along with this, the teachers and staff are committed to a high level of professionalism. James H. Boyd works to promote school readiness, student independence, self-esteem and self-confidence. First grade is based on a developmental approach to learning. They promote the physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth of each child, as well as self-esteem and self-confidence. In addition, their curriculum students are supported by a variety of opportunities for involvement in extra-curricular activities in athletics, the arts, clubs and service organizations.
