I.S. 254 is in good standing in New York’s accountability system. I.S. 254 offers balanced Literacy, small group instruction, Homebase Technology Initiative and Mathematics blocks. Students will develop the skills necessary to be competent, caring, and responsible members of society. I.S. 254 educational programs and services are designed to meet the varying needs of all students and will not discriminate against any individual for reasons of race, creed, color, gender, national origin, economic status or handicap. I.S. 254 teachers work to ensure early literacy and language arts skills of the youngest students, ensuring their ability to read, write and think critically in all curricular areas including math, science, social studies, art, music, library skills, and physical education.
