I.S. 232 teaching strategies are based on fundamental building blocks, designed to help them become independent and mature. These blocks support good personal traits like; gaining independence, becoming problem solvers, being good members of a community, and studying and learning in groups or by themselves. The staff believes in proudly sharing and celebrating the differences in all students while striving to ensure that all students and staff feel like an integral part of the school family. A strong character education program sets the backdrop for an emphasis on respect, responsibility, and cooperation. Frequent curriculum updates, relevant staff development training, and an emphasis on writing instruction in all subjects have contributed to their success.
