Is 223 Mott Hall teaches basic core curriculum from a dedicated and talented faculty made up of teachers and other staff members. There are several educational programs that are being used with the goal of encouraging the growth and development of every student’s personal interests and capabilities. Other classes include; music, art, physical education, library, and computer lab. They continue to work on the Comprehensive District Educational goals, with a strong focus on English Language Arts and Math. They work toward exceeding the New York State Educational Standards. Social skills are fostered through Character Education; anti-violence/anti-bullying; and conflict resolution lessons, which were developed and implemented in each classroom. While differences may exist from class to class and grade to grade in the reading materials that are used, the primary elements of the reading program remain the same in all classes and include: Read Aloud, Shared Reading, Guided Reading, Literature Study, Independent Reading, and Word Study.
