Indian Lake Central School is located at 28 West Main Street Indian Lake, NY and provides education to grades K through 12. While the school may be small in population compared to some other schools, they are rich in academic excellence and expectations. Located in the heart of New York State's Adirondack Park, with its many forests, lakes, and mountains. In the spring, it's time for the rush of whitewater rafting, kayaking, discovering a trillium in bloom, casting a line, or seeing a whitetail fawn.
Summer is filled with hiking, canoeing, fishing, boating, skiing, windsurfing and lots of time to relax and breathe the fresh air of this true wilderness. Plan to visit a museum and historical Adirondack landmarks. Go to a festival, and search for treasures in our shops and galleries. This national treasure stands today as the largest wilderness preserve outside of Alaska and is one of the most successful conservation efforts in history. Our region is within an easy day's drive of most major cities in the Northeast.
Newcomers to the area will be pleased to hear that Indian Lake Central School offers an idea learning environment with small class sizes, positive community support, individual attention, and encouragement which help all students and staff members strive for excellence.
