Horseheads Intermediate School is located at 952 Sing Sing Road Horseheads, NY. This school is located in Chemung County and provides education for grades 5 through 6 and it is part of the Horseheads Central School District. At Horseheads Intermediate School there are five teaching teams for 6th grade and six teaching teams for 5th grade. Each team changes for at least two academic subjects; the choice of which subjects is up to the individual teams. Students do not change for every class until they get to the Middle School.
There are some fun sports at the Intermediate School, including favorites such as golf, soccer, basketball, flag football, ultimate Frisbee, lacrosse, and archery. Additionally there is one section of 5th grade orchestra and one section of 6th grade orchestra. Students also receive instrumental lessons during the school day. The computer lab has 30 computers and two Earthwalk labs, which are portable laptop units. The library also has 30 computers. All classrooms have at least one computer. Internet access is available on all computers.
Horseheads Intermediate School has a wide range of opportunities for our students, not only in academics, but in extra-curricular activities as well. We also have a wonderful character education program focusing on the traits of responsibility, respect, caring/tolerance and honesty/trustworthiness.
