Harding Avenue School has a full day kindergarten program designed to help children enhance social growth while exploring literature, mathematics, and the community. In the primary grades, these types of opportunities continue, gaining depth with each year. In the upper grades, children explore a variety of literature, gain in-depth knowledge about many scientific topics, and math skills that are in-line with state standards and assessments. The social studies curriculum centers on democracy, citizenship, and the history of the United States, New York State, and cultures around the world. School primary program introduces children to their library and to a collection of literature appropriate to their ages and interest. The children learn how to locate materials and are encouraged to read independently. In Art the main objective is to provide opportunities for children to work creatively using a wide variety of mediums. Harding Avenue believes in conducting school matters openly and solicits and encourages public involvement. Decisions by the school affect the education of the children and the welfare of the community.
