Grimes School offers further enrichment for student's in programs such as Ivy AKAdemy, Opera Appreciation, BOCES Early Years Tutorial Program, and their signature Read-Aloud Program. The school is equipped with three academic floors this 'State-of-the-Art' edifice boasts a full science lab; 3 to 4 brand-new computers in every classroom; a Read 180 lab; 4 completely equipped early childhood kindergarten classrooms; a 225 seat cafeteria; a 403 seat fully equipped auditorium/theatre; fascinating playground equipment along with a full basketball court; a wonderful gymnasium; a private Pupil Personnel Suite and a Media Center that is second to none.
The administrators, teachers, and specialists are committed to meeting the intellectual, academic, physical, cultural, social, and emotional needs of children. Educating the entire child is the most important objective at Grimes School. The Grimes School staff includes a full time nurse, social worker, psychologist, speech therapist, and school counselor. They also have two Reading Specialists who use the pullout and push-in teaching system. Creative teaching strategies are used to incorporate the arts and the community into the lives of all children.
