Gillette Road Middle School is located at 6150 South Bay Road Cicero, NY and provides education for grades 5-7 in Onondaga County. In addition to all classrooms having 5 student computers and 1 laser printer in each room, all large classrooms and our 2 computer labs now are equipped with multi-media stations for teachers. These multi-media stations include a computer, document camera, projector, and a media box which allows teachers to show VCR tapes. DVDs can be played through teachers' computers.
All of this equipment projects through a ceiling-mounted projector onto a large screen which can be easily seen by students in the class. This up-to-date technology allows teachers and students to be engaged in sophisticated educational activities.
This New York public school abides by the New York State Board of Regents adopted learning standards for all areas of study. The New York State Education Department issues the core curricula and these core curricula’s are the foundation upon which State assessments are aligned and developed. There is an abundance of student services available within the school system starting at pre-school age and up to the 21 year old that want to continue their education. The staff includes a School Psychologist, Director of Student Support Services, and a department Secretary.
The teachers, staff, and administration are dedicated professionals that assist students in reaching their full potential. Not only are they dedicated but are available for extra assistance if and when needed.
