George L. Cooke School

About
George L. Cooke School is located at 69 Richardson Avenue Monticello, NY serving grades K-2 in Sullivan County. The Teachers and Staff have always been committed to teaching excellence. Teachers are encouraged to learn about new methods and ideas through district in-service programs, Sullivan County Staff Development made possible by BOCES and the Sullivan County Teacher Center, and by participation in graduate programs offered at area colleges and universities.

The School offers employment & educational opportunities, without regard to sex, race, color, religion, national origin or handicap. Students will find excellent counseling services available for academic, peer, social problems, or any other student issues. There are even special counseling groups for issues like self-esteem, divorce, and study skills. The Schools teaching philosophy is to inspire all students to become long life learners and be positive contributors to society.

The staff and teachers work right along with parents to provide one of the best teaching experiences for pupils. There are several different cultures and religions attending this New York Public School so it has a very diverse background of students. Teachers are very committed to teaching these young minds and prepare them for grade advancements while preserving the ethics and cultural environment every parent expects.

Along with the quality of teachers, the principal, extracurricular activities, safety, and discipline are also among the top when talking to parents with children enrolled in the school. Parent involvement is also a very important aspect of the educational programs designed at this upstanding school.
