George F. Baker High School

About
George F. Baker High School is located at Route 17 Tuxedo Park, NY and it serves grades 9-12 in Orange County. Every effort is made to provide the staff with the resources needed to allow them to practice exemplary teaching. The small, and optimal, size of the Tuxedo district allows teachers to closely monitor student progress and address concerns in a very timely manner.

Students graduating from this high school must earn a minimum of 22 credits. Included in this course work are four years of English and Social Studies, a minimum of two years of math and science, and one credit in some aspect of computers. Students can also earn credits in foreign language (Spanish and French), art, music, technology, and home economics.

Through the Orange/Ulster BOCES our students can receive training in vocational programs including the following which are only a sample of the excellent programs: Automotive Mechanics, Technical Computer/Industrial Electronics, Cosmetology, Culinary Food Trades, Data Processing, Computer Programming, Horticulture/Landscaping, Law Enforcement, and Licensed Practical Nurse.

Despite their size, students may enroll in courses for college credit. College credit through the State University at Albany can be earned in both French and Spanish.
