Floyd L. Bell Elementary School is located at 15 Golden Street Kirkwood, NY. This school accepts enrollment for students from grades Kindergarten through 5th in the Broome county area. The attitude at this school is “Can Do Noble Knight” and for students that keep to the theme they are recognized and awarded quarterly during school assemblies. However its not just handed to anyone and those student who receive these awards must have meet the “Ten Virtues” which are; Respect, Responsibility, Gratitude, Compassion, Integrity, Friendship, Self-Control, Positive Attitude, Perseverance, and Citizenship. Floyd Bell Elementary feels that learning is enhanced with solid relationships formed between teachers, parents, and community resources.
No child left behind is taken serious here at this elementary school and frequent assessments of the core subjects to monitor student progress and modify instruction are participated it regularly. The school is piloting new curriculum in Art, Music and Physical Education. In addition, it’s devoted to using research established strategies for helping all students meet the rigorous demands of the New York Standards of Learning. The PTO and school counselors, nurses, and the principal are all focused on helping Floyd Bell Elementary School students become a success.
