Eagle Hill Middle School is located at 4645 Enders Road Manlius, NY providing education for grades 5-8 in Onondaga County. Eagle Hill is one of two middle schools in the Fayetteville-Manlius School District that opened in 1965 as a 7-9 junior high school. Eagle Hill moved into its current location when a new building was built in 1972. In 1975, the ninth grade moved to the high school, the sixth grade moved to Eagle Hill, thus Eagle Hill began its transition to a middle school with grades 6-8. In 1979, fifth grade joined the middle school and so for the past twenty years Eagle Hill has remained a 5-8 middle school.
Changes over the years in programs, curricula, scheduling, and staffing have helped Eagle Hill to provide a safe, caring, and challenging environment that meets the diverse needs of the middle school child. High expectations for academic excellence, coupled with opportunities in the arts, athletics, and special areas encourage students to explore areas of interest and to achieve their best. Interdisciplinary teams integrate instruction and provide students with a nurturing atmosphere in which to succeed. A strong character education program sets the backdrop for an emphasis on respect, responsibility, compassion, and cooperation.
Results on standardized tests and New York State Assessments demonstrate that Eagle Hill students consistently score above average. Frequent curriculum updates, relevant staff development training, and an emphasis on writing instruction in all subjects have contributed to our success. They are very proud of our students at Eagle Hill and their accomplishments in academics, athletics, and the arts.
