Dunkirk Senior High School is located at 75 West Sixth Street Dunkirk, NY. It’s the only High school in the school district of Dunkirk City and it provides education for grades 9th through 12th. The Town of Dunkirk was established in 1859 and the Village of Dunkirk was incorporated in 1837, it became a city in 1888. Dunkirk is the westernmost city in the state of New York. Dunkirk Senior High School has its very own news publication online called “THE CITIZEN” which is the official student publication of Dunkirk High School. The district offers fall, winter, and spring Athletics programs that include; Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Swimming, Bowling, and Tennis.

Dunkirk Senior High School is committed to providing a safe and orderly school environment where students may receive and district personnel may deliver quality educational services without disruption or interference. Responsible behavior by students, teachers, other district personnel, parents and other visitors is essential to achieving this goal. Long-standing expectations for conduct on school property and at school functions are respected by students. These expectations are based on the principles of civility, mutual respect, citizenship, character, tolerance, honesty and integrity.

There are several different cultures and religions attending Dunkirk Senior High School so it has a very diverse background of students. Teachers are very committed to teaching and preparing students for grade advancements while preserving the ethics and cultural environment every parent expects.
