Deruyter High School

About
Deruyter High School is located at 711 Railroad Street Deruyter, NY. This New York public school provides out standing educational opportunities to the local community in Madison County, for grades 6 through 12. DeRuyter is a small, rural community committed to providing an excellent educational program for the children of the community. They offer a wide variety of academic courses including both French and Spanish as Foreign Language options.

Also, in addition to our outstanding Language Arts, History, Mathematics and Science programs, we offer full, state-of-the-art technology, business and fine arts programs. Instrumental and Vocal music programs are growing and offer our students an opportunity to strive both individually through NYSMAA competitions as well as part of a growing ensemble.

Athletic programs have a long history of not only being very competitive, but also showing a high quality of sportsmanship and fair play. These programs include soccer, cross-country, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, track, golf, and cheerleading. These programs offer students opportunities for growth in teamwork, problem solving, and athletic skill development. These programs reinforce the attitudes and expectations of the district.

Staff goals are simple as they expect students to strive for their very best everyday. They want our students to have the opportunity to do whatever they want upon graduation. They strive to be role models to be proud of. We offer courses that are challenging and with enough support to make all children successful members of society. The 15 college courses offer students the opportunity to push themselves and earn college credit while still in high school.
