Delevan Elementary School is located at 30 School Street Delevan, NY. Education is provided for grades Pre-kindergarten through 4th for the community of Delevan in Cattaraugus County. At Delevan Elementary School each grade level has meetings using open communication policies to ensure that teachers deliver services that produce increased academic success for students. All students are required to take assessment test in areas of English Language Arts and Math. First Grade students work in a program called Reading Intervention and in runs for 16 weeks. The end result of this program is to help first grade level students excel in reading.
Delevan Elementary has a Special education teacher along with regular education teachers and assistants that all work together in a Co-Teaching classrooms environment. The teachers recognize that student learn at different speeds and in different ways. Therefore AIS, is provided for students who are identified as “at risk” of not meeting a minimum academic standard as set by the State of New York. Students learn in a constructive, fostering, and enabling atmosphere where excellence can be achieved by every student and that their talents and abilities can be fully developed by attending to the individual requirements of each child.
