Clara H. Carlson School is one of the two biggest elementary schools in the district, Carlson School offers a variety of curricular and extra-curricular activities designed to help students meet and surpass New York State Learning Standards. Programs such as morning and afternoon tutorial sessions, Writer’s Workshop, Reader’s Workshop, Computer Club, Dance Club, Literary Magazine Club, Peer Mediators Club, Garden Club, Library Club, Safety Patrol, Jazz Master’s Workshop, and Student Government.
Recent standardized test results have indicated that more than 80 percent of Carlson’s fourth graders have met and/or exceeded state standards. Through the efforts of dedicated administrators, staff, an active Site Based Management Team and PTA, the school community vows to work together to insure that each and every student’s needs are addressed.
