Canandaigua Elementary School is located at 90 West Gibson Street Canandaigua, NY and provides education to grades 3-5 in Ontario County. The Canandaigua Elementary School, (grades 3-5), continues the supportive, individualistic approach to education introduced in the Primary School while shifting to a more rigorous academic environment. Within each grade are teams where students are grouped primarily for language arts. A full range of special programs complement the core academic instruction, including computer keyboarding, instrumental, string and vocal music, and counseling. Every effort is made to mainstream children with learning disabilities into regular classrooms. Learning centers and resource time are available for those students who require additional support.
The school wishes all students to be safe, engaging environment that values all members of the community and encourages them to pursue their full potential as life-long learners and respectful citizens. The teachers make every effort to incorporate literacy learning in all areas of learning: social studies, science, math, health, physical education, and the arts. Parents with children attending this public School enjoy the fact the district have small classrooms, caring, dedicated teachers, and the desire of the school for parent involvement.
