Berner Middle School

About
Berner Middle School teachers work toward developing students to acquire critical thinking and problem solving skills, communicated through literacy, fine arts, mathematics, technology and the sciences, they seek to be responsive to changes in the family, community and the world. Working in a partnership, the students, staff, parents, and community commit themselves to developing the academic, emotional, physical and social well being of all children.

Berner Middle offers a wide variety of academic and co-curricular opportunities that include clubs, intramural, and interscholastic sports teams. Students are encouraged to take part in school activities so that they may meet people, make friends, and gain a sense of pride in their school community. Teachers make use of developed age-appropriate integrated learning experiences for the center that are linked with the New York State Learning Standards. Their work included marking of nature trails, exhibits, field guides, exploratory activities, and teacher training.
