Bay Shore Middle School programs guarantee an easy transition from the self-contained classroom structure of the elementary school to the departmentalized structure of the high school, while providing support and direction in your child's transition from late childhood to adolescence. World languages taught at the seventh and eighth grade levels include Latin, French and Spanish. Bay Shore also has a twofold language program, an accelerated honors program, research program, as well as wide-ranging music and art programs. Educators recognize the importance of providing a wide range of enrichment opportunities. Students are encouraged to participate in local, state, regional and national competitions in the five major disciplines English, social studies, science, foreign language, and math as well as music and drama contests.
